Immunizations

With ‘Back to School’ on everyone’s mind, don’t forget to make sure child’s immunizations are up-to-date. To attend public schools in the state of Maryland, your child must be current on their immunizations.

Often times parents do not know what these immunizations acronyms means.

  • DTap/DTP/Tdap/Dt/Td is an abbreviation for Tetanus(lockjaw), Pertussis (whooping cough), Diphtheria (respiratory disease).
  • IPV is the Polio vaccine.
  • – MMR = Measles, Mumps, Rubella
  • Varicella = Chickenpox

Check with your child’s school for specifics on which vaccines are needed and by what age. While waivers are available for religious and personal reasons, we highly recommend all children be properly vaccinate to prevent contracting these diseases, and to protect those children too young or too ill to be fully immunized.

Stop by your nearest U.N.I location to get your children’s immunizations up-to-date and get everyone ready for a healthy school year.

Traveling soon? We also provide a host of vaccinations to help you keep healthy while you travel too!
